Pastor Umar Mulinde, who was attacked with acid by Muslim extremists on Christmas Eve 2011 outside his church near Kampala, has returned home from Israel.
Mulinde has been receiving free treatment at Sheba Hospital in Tel Aviv; Israel. Mulinde who lost sight of one eye had it replaced in the course of the treatment. He also received treatment of his damaged ear.
Since
the attack he has been in constant pain and during a rehabilitation
period of more than two years. He has undergone eight facial
reconstruction surgeries, the last being reconstruction of his right ear
on February 3.
He was released from hospital some time back but has been staying in Israel to finish his out-patient treatment.
He was warmly received by his flock. The convert on arrival said that he has forgiven his attackers .
